Pucks4Pawz 2014 Thank You!

November 15th was a good day…

bulls-smallOn November 15th we hosted the annual “Pucks 4 Pawz” game with the The Belleville Bulls to raise money for Fixed Fur Life. This time around “Pucks 4 Pawz” raised over $2,600 for Fixed Fur Life and their volunteers to use helping the animals and pet owners of Quinte West. These folks help people in the Quinte West area on limited incomes deal with veterinary bills associated with spaying and neutering their pets as well as helping with the neutering of stray animals.

My wife, my dog (Pepe le Pew!) and I dropped the puck at the beginning of the game on Saturday night. I have to tell you, for a young man who is as fast as maneuverable as he is, Remi Elie has no right being that bloody big! I would like to point out that both Remi Elie and Jordan Subban made us all very proud with their performance in the Canada/Russia Junior series game this past Monday night in Kingston. The OHL team handed the Russians their first defeat in the series this year, dominating them throughout the game and thumping them 6-1.

We raised over $700 on the Charlie Graham jersey auction alone, and the chuck-a-puck tables almost ran out of pucks. From myself, and all of my staff we would like to thank every one of the generous Belleville Bulls fans and Fixed Fur Life supporters who came out to support Fixed Fur Life.

We still have Belleville Bulls dog tags “for sale” with a $5.00 donation to Fixed Fur Life, which we will continue to “sell” here at Hillcrest Animal Hospital. We are making arrangements to have them available in other places for folks who may want one. This money will continue to go directly to Fixed Fur Life of course.

Remember folks this is an amazing local charity run by some caring, compassionate volunteers who have helped a HUGE amount of people in our area. Please visit their website and see for yourself, and perhaps make a donation for the animals.
