Dr. Andrea Wernham, DVM

Originally from London, ON, Andrea spent most of her early days at the barn with her horse, working in small animal and equine vet clinics, and caring for an assortment of pets. After attending the University of Guelph, she graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2005. Travelling to Thailand during her second year as part of Global Vets, and working with elephants and other native species was a highlight of her time at vet school. After graduation, she moved to Northumberland County, where she initially worked with both horses and small animals, before focusing on small animal medicine exclusively.

Andrea has completed additional training in dental surgery and enjoys contributing to the improvement in comfort and quality of life a pet experiences after having dental problems addressed. She enjoys preventative medicine and pain management for her patients and is very empathetic in working with clients to provide the best options for their pets.

Equal parts cat person and dog person, Andrea’s favourite activities include walking the trails with her two Golden Retrievers or cuddling on the couch with her cat and a good book. Her two elementary-aged children keep her home life hopping. She enjoys art, and baking, and combines the two in cake decorating. When she’s not in work scrubs, she’s usually in gym gear, and enthusiastically has been part of the local sports leagues playing or coaching.
